Scored over 5 trading sessions.
1. The state
As of the 2026-09-17 close
Xenon closed the September 17 regular session at $57.35, up 1.0% from Wednesday's $56.76, on 1.79 million shares, about 2.9 times the 20-day average, 21% below the 52-week high of $72.66 on July 9. Premarket at 09:08 ET the last print was $44.27, 22.8% below that close.
2. What's new
GlobeNewswire at 16:01 ET September 17: NDA for azetukalner in focal seizures submitted; voluntary pause on new psychiatry enrollment after neuropsychiatric AEs not seen in Phase 2 X-NOVA; X-NOVA2 about 360 of 450, topline now Q1 2027.
3. What that does to the state
The tape is acting as if the psychiatry option is being written off and the epilepsy NDA is what remains.
No comparison is ready for XENE on this session yet. Either that day's data is not in, or this name is too thinly traded for a comparison. If the note cites an earlier close, that is the last built range.

4. Same state, or a new one
This reading is wrong if Friday's regular close holds most of the overnight gap, or a later filing or FDA action hits the epilepsy program rather than only psychiatry enrollment.
Xenon closed Thursday at $57.35, up 1.0% from Wednesday's $56.76, 21% under the July 9 high of $72.66. The largest completed one-day drop in 90 sessions was 4.2% on August 20. At 16:01 ET it put out a company release: the NDA for azetukalner in focal seizures is in, and new enrollment in the depression and bipolar studies is paused after neuropsychiatric adverse events that were not seen in Phase 2 X-NOVA. Premarket at 09:08 ET the last print was $44.27, 23% below that close. On 96.8 million shares that is about $1.3 billion of equity, next to $1.25 billion of cash at June 30.
The NDA is the third-quarter filing they said they would make. It sits on X-TOLE and X-TOLE2. Epilepsy studies keep enrolling. The pause is psychiatry: X-NOVA2 is about 360 of 450 patients, enough they say to unblind; topline now Q1 2027. Enrolled patients stay on drug. They will look at dose. No 8-K is on EDGAR this morning.
The tape is acting as if psychiatry was a large part of the $5.55 billion close. The overnight print is already larger than the 1-day neighborhood of that quiet close (p10 −3.2). Friday's regular session is the first score. We do not have a new band until that session completes.
Other reading, tape, and sources
The other reading
The NDA is in, the epilepsy program has more than 1,500 patient-years of safety, and cash funds operations into 2029. If Friday fills most of the gap with no further safety disclosure, the pause was a caption on a filing they already said they would make.
What would change this
This reading is wrong if Friday's regular close holds most of the overnight gap, or a later filing or FDA action hits the epilepsy program rather than only psychiatry enrollment.

The numbers around the move
The tape is acting as if the psychiatry option is being written off and the epilepsy NDA is what remains. The 5-session band on the September 16 close is −7.2 / −0.5 / +7.9. A 23% overnight print is not that neighborhood; it is a candidate new state, not a new band.
